The middle section is extraordinary
I picked this up for our monthly circle and finished it long before the meeting. What impressed me most was the restraint: nothing is over-explained. A strong recommendation from me.

I bought two more copies
This arrived at exactly the right point in my reading year. There's a warmth running underneath even the harder chapters. I'll be rereading this one.

Deserves a wider readership
I don't usually reach for this genre, which made the experience even better. It balances big ideas with small, ordinary moments remarkably well. I've already gifted a copy.

Ambitious and mostly successful
This was my commute book and it made me miss my stop twice. What impressed me most was the restraint: nothing is over-explained. Some readers will want more from the ending. It has earned a permanent shelf spot.

Thoughtful, layered, worth your time
I picked this up for our monthly circle and finished it long before the meeting. There's a warmth running underneath even the harder chapters. A strong recommendation from me.

Our best discussion this season
This arrived at exactly the right point in my reading year. It balances big ideas with small, ordinary moments remarkably well. It does take fifty pages to settle into its rhythm. I'll be rereading this one.
