Ronald K. Reddout was born on August 20, 1946, in Yale, Oklahoma. Just three months later, his family relocated to the Wichita, Kansas area, where he would spend more than four decades of his life — with one life-changing interruption, a year of military service in South Vietnam.

Although he had always possessed a creative mind, Ronald's writing journey truly began in 1986 when the Moving Wall, the traveling memorial honoring Vietnam veterans, came to Wichita.

At the time, Ronald was serving as a National Service Officer for a Veterans Service Organization. Knowing he had served in Vietnam, his supervisor asked him to write a commemorative poem for the event.

The Heart Behind the Stories

At the center of Ronald's writing is one enduring fascination — relationships. Whether between humans, humanoids, or beings from entirely different worlds, his stories explore how relationships are shaped by adversity, change, sacrifice, and hope.

His characters are often pushed into unfamiliar situations where survival is only part of the challenge. They must discover who they are when everything they once relied upon is stripped away.

I let my writing take me where it will. I follow my gut to see where a particular story will take me. I don't outline or box myself in. I create!

Inside the Collection

Worlds of Fiction I is the first installment in Ronald's Worlds of Fiction series — seven original stories spanning multiple subgenres, each offering a completely different adventure while sharing one common thread: the limitless possibilities of imagination.

  • Wereworld — What if the vampire legend actually began with extraterrestrials searching for a new home?
  • Mulgroon — A thoughtful meditation on humanity's long history of exploiting the worlds it inhabits.
  • Worker — Imagine discovering that your computer screensaver is actually another living world.
  • Goldilocks and the Six Bears — A playful reimagining of the classic fairy tale.
  • Beauty — George and Jessica are reunited after twenty years apart. Can true feelings survive time?
  • In Harm's Way — Reluctant family obligation slowly becomes something much deeper.
  • The Dragon's Keep — On a distant world, forgotten alliances may hold the key to humanity's future.

A Faith-Filled Calling

For Ronald, writing is far more than a creative pursuit — it is an act of stewardship. Recognizing that his ability to write is a gift from God, he has committed to returning 20 percent of all his royalties back to God's work.

God made this possible within me. That's something I never expected nor dreamed of when I was younger.

Why His Stories Matter

Ronald writes about ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances. His characters are challenged to adapt, persevere, and redefine who they are when life changes without warning.

  • Second Chances — What would you do if life offered a new beginning?
  • Identity — Who are you when everything familiar disappears?
  • Connection — How do we build meaningful relationships across impossible divides?
  • Redemption — Is it ever too late to change?
  • Faith — What does it mean to trust God when the path ahead is uncertain?
